C. Paul Harrison

C. Paul Harrison is a shareholder and director of the firm, concentrating his practice in the areas of litigation, transactions, and general business. His clients are diverse but are generally business owners. He represents owners, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in construction-related litigation and arbitrations. He handles employer-employee, non-compete and shareholder litigation. He has handled complex creditor/debtor workouts. He represents clients in landlord-tenant, condemnation, contract and business litigation. He represents clients in the acquisition of businesses, real estate and lease negotiations, and other corporate, contract and business matters. In addition, Mr. Harrison represents clients evaluating investment opportunities in real estate and business ventures.


In his litigation practice, Mr. Harrison frequently appears in state courts throughout Tennessee, as well as federal and bankruptcy courts for the Eastern District of Tennessee. He has extensive experience in bench and jury trials, special master hearings and arbitration hearings. He has handled both the prosecution and defense of complex commercial litigation. A sample of cases handled by Mr. Harrison includes:

  • Prestige Land Company v. Brian Mullins Excavating Contractors, Inc. Successfully defended a claim by grading contractor against developer seeking substantial damages, through bench trial and appeal.
  • American Mosaic Inc., v. United States of America. Successfully sued the IRS as a result of a wrongful levy upon stone and marble inventory of the client.
  • Gatehouse Condominiums v. C.W. Contractors. Successfully handled suit against contractor for a condominium project in Gatlinburg.
  • Frizzell Construction Company v. Gatlinburg, LLC. Successfully defended suit for general contractor against the owner of hotel development to collect the balance owed under a construction contract, including arbitration and related appeals.
  • Reagan v. Higgins. Represented contractor in suit against owner that involved arbitration, appeal and bankruptcy proceedings prior to collecting on balance owed.

Mr. Harrison has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from the University of Tennessee, where he served as President of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He is a member of numerous honorary fraternities and societies and is a Torchbearer. He was an intern for the Federal Land Bank and Bank for Cooperatives. He has a Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee. In addition to practicing law, Mr. Harrison is an investor and developer in various real estate projects and business ventures.

Mr. Harrison grew up on his family’s dairy farm in Loudon, Tennessee and remains close to the agricultural community. He was educated in public schools, is married, and has two teenage sons. He coaches youth baseball and is active in his church, children’s schools, nonprofit organizations and community activities.
